Old family photographs

This is the view from where I sit at the piano, and it's one of my most favourite places to sit.
Around me I've placed old photographs of my family. My parents on their wedding day, grandparents, my great grandmother (who I'd give anything to meet) and other family members; some whom I've never met, and some I miss deeply.

Seeing these photographs is a constant reminder of where I come from, and who I come from.
A salt-of-the-earth family in Liverpool, and a salt-of-the-earth family in London (yes I'm a Cockney, couldn't you tell??)  I even took them all with me on my Wedding Day. They looked out over us from a pretty little table  lit by candlelight.

Although either family didn't have much in the way of money, they were rich in character and their hearts were good. So I count myself very lucky to have been born to them. Whatever I'm going through, they remind me of how blessed I am.

  1. Beautiful sentiment Jodie. I too have lots of these black and white and Sepia pics in lovely antique frames of my family from both sides, some 4 generations ago, and test it;s a good reminder of who we are. I never tire looking at them, and love seeing who our youngest members take after. xx
